Polyketone as alternative to POM or PA11-12 in rotomoulding

This study focuses on assessing Polyketone (PK) as a potential alternative to POM (Polyoxymethylene) and PA11/PA12 for rotational moulding applications. The evaluation process, from the perspective of a raw material supplier, aims to explore PK‘s suitability in producing technical parts that require low abrasion, strong barrier properties, and high chemical stability against aggressive media. Key aspects covered in the study include understanding basic rheological, physical and chemical properties. The study also provides recommendations for effective rotational moulding with PK, based on the collected data. These recommendations include basic processing conditions to achieve good performance and quality of the final product.
