Blankenhain/Thuringia 18.10.2011 – In addition to the traditional expertise of the GRAFE Group regarding the designing and production of surfaces and colours for vehicle interiors, other GRAFE product ranges are increasingly playing a role in plastic automotive manufacturing. At the Fakuma trade fair in Friedrichshafen from 18th to 22nd October, visitors can learn about the latest trends and developments as well as see the updated automotive interior overview.
The GRAFE Polymer Technik GmbH product range is gaining in importance within plastic automotive manufacturing. “Conductive and permanently anti-static plastics are becoming increasingly significant in automobile manufacturing and are frequently replacing traditional metallic materials. This includes highly interesting projects in the fields of fuel cells, electronics, sensors, contacting, shielding and energy supply. We are currently working on client and application-specific solutions, which have also found their way into the series,” reports Steffen Felzer.
What’s more, the GRAFE-Group is providing information about the newly developed LOW emission PP compound for air ducts and channels in vehicle manufacturing. It is a low-emission, extrusion blow moulding PP.
Visitors can also obtain information about specially highly-filled combination- master- batches for vehicle interiors, which offer the highest levels of efficiency at minimal doses. This process incorporates the know- how gained from the exclusive manufacturing process for highly concentrated additive master-batches, which has been used at GRAFE since 2005.
For many years, the GRAFE-Group has expertise in the designing and production of surfaces and colours in vehicle interiors. GRAFE has established itself as a partner to the automobile industry in the field of specific and complex interior trim properties and has already developed more than 8,000 color formulas in collaboration with its clients from the automobile industry. Renowned German and international automobile manufacturers are impressed by the quality and flexibility of the GRAFE-Group. Thermoplastic reproductions for interior colors in cars are generally calibrated using leather, paint or textile samples defined by an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Over the last ten years, GRAFE has reproduced over 700 interior trim colors in 29 types of thermoplastic for 34 national and international OEMs.
The GRAFE Group is exhibiting at FAKUMA in Hall B5, Stand 5306.
Apart from color and additive master batches, the product spectrum of GRAFE Advanced Polymers GmbH includes a wide range of functional plastic compounds. One of the industry’s largest R&D departments is focusing its efforts on the latest technologies that can equip plastic with intelligent functions. Founded in 1991, the company is now operating as GRAFE Group with its three divisions: Color Batch, Additive Batch and Polymer Technik. The employees develop new products and produce in the highly modern facility at Blankenhain (Thuringia) in heart of Germany for the national and international market. The Group is certified pursuant to DIN EN ISO TS 16949 and DIN EN ISO 9001/2000. Further information under: www.grafe.com
