As one of the leading German manufacturers of masterbatches, we not only produce color masterbatches, additive masterbatches and functional plastic compounds – we are the embodiment of German research, engineering and entrepreneurship, and our products reach satisfied customers in more than 60 countries.
GRAFE stands for quality, customer orientation and innovation, and at our Blankenhain site we have one of the largest research and development departments in the entire industry, which develops the latest technologies to modify plastics and provide them with intelligent functions.

1991
Foundation of the family business
The four Grafe brothers founded GRAFE Color Batch GmbH in Paderborn and shortly afterwards moved to Jena into a hall of the former ZEISS main factory.
1995 - 1998
Move to Blankenhain
1995: Official inauguration of the company premises in Blankenhain, founding of GRAFE Additiv Batch GmbH and construction of a pilot plant for fiber spinning. 1998: Founding of GRAFE Polymer Technik GmbH and expansion of the company complex (laboratory, technology and production).
2002

2003 - 2009
2003: Foundation of GRAFE Polska Sp.z.o.o. 2005: Investment in the warehouse, administration, pilot plant and machinery at the Blankenhain site. 2008: Expansion of our machinery by another high-performance extruder 2009: Foundation of GRAFE Italia S.r.L. and expansion of the compounding center as well as warehouse and production in Blankenhain
2011-2015
Acquisition of HD Kunststoffe GmbH
2011: Expansion of the machinery by 3 production extrusion lines, 3 pilot extrusion lines and 1 simulation extruder 2015: Installation of a pilot plant for bottle blowing and another production extrusion line and takeover of HD Kunststoffe as a 100 percent subsidiary of GRAFE Advanced Polymers GmbH

GRAFE enlarges again
Expansion of the fully automatic storage system for development samples and construction of a further production extrusion line. Sales activities in Spain and Portugal were also started.
2017
Foundation of the GRAFE Ceska republika s.r.o.
Foundation of GRAFE Ceska republika s.r.o. and development of sales activities in Hungary. Furthermore, two additional pilot injection molding machines were installed at the Blankenhain location.
2019
Merger
Merger of the companies GRAFE Color Batch GmbH, GRAFE Additiv Batch GmbH, and GRAFE Polymertechnik GmbH to form GRAFE Polymer Solutions GmbH. Start of the GRAFE brand relaunch with a new claim: GRAFE – Future in plastics.

After thorough testing by TÜV Rheinland, we were awarded the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certificate and are also certified according to the highest automotive standard IATF 16949:2016. This confirms our high quality in the development, production and distribution of color & additive masterbatches and compounds for plastics processing.
